The 2009 National Conference on Enterprise Computing

ECC2009

Marist College, Poughkeepsie, New York

June 21 - 23, 2009

Overview

The Enterprise Computing Community (ECC) is a consortium of academic and industry partners aimed at bringing together a community of experts to address the skills shortage encountered in large-scale computing system environments. In collaboration with other university and corporate partners, we propose to reshape the undergraduate information technology, information systems, and computer science curricula to address essential computing technology principles that are critical to our national economy and security. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation, this initiative has the following goals and objectives:

The Conference

The National Conference is a three day event, comprising two days of plenary with focus on educational, practitioner and research issues, which include paper submissions and presentations, keynote speeches and panel discussions.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

Curriculum Track Research Track Industry Track Paper Submission

Authors are invited to submit papers; preferably in MS Word or PDF format. The length should not exceed 12 pages typeset in a 12-point font. A detailed extended abstract will be considered if it gives a clear reflection of the contents and key points of the coming paper.

All paper submissions will be handled electronically. Authors should submit their paper or detailed abstract and the completed submission form available here.

Presentation Submission

Presenters are invited to submit presentation proposals. A detailed extended abstract will be considered if it gives a clear reflection of the contents and key points of the coming presentation.

All presentation submissions will be handled electronically. Authors should submit their presentation or detailed abstract and the completed submission form available here.

Panel Submission

Panels are solicited that examine issues of interest. Panel sessions provide an opportunity for participants to present their views on a specific topic and then to discuss these views among themselves and with the audience. A typical panel will consist of three or four participants, including the moderator. If the proposal is accepted, all presenters listed in the panel description will be required to register for the conference and to participate in the session.

All panel submissions will be handled electronically. Authors should submit a detailed proposal and the completed submission form available here.

Process of Selection

The program committee will evaluate papers, presentations, and panels based on quality and relevance. All submissions are held in confidentiality prior to publication in the proceedings.

Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered unless an extension has been granted by the program chairs. Where employer, client, or government authorization is needed, the author(s) will obtain such authorization prior to submitting the final manuscript.

Accepted papers will be presented by their author(s) and will be published in the conference proceedings. The proceedings are provided free of charge to conference attendees. The papers will be also published on the ECC National Conference website after the end of the conference.

Copyright

ECC requires a non-exclusive copyright license for all the papers presented at the conference and for the presentation material. This includes potential distribution on a CD-ROM and/or the ECC website.
