The 2009 National Conference on Enterprise Computing
ECC2009
Marist College, Poughkeepsie, New York
June 21 - 23, 2009
The Enterprise Computing Community (ECC) is a consortium of academic and industry partners aimed at bringing together a community of experts to address the skills shortage encountered in large-scale computing system environments. In collaboration with other university and corporate partners, we propose to reshape the undergraduate information technology, information systems, and computer science curricula to address essential computing technology principles that are critical to our national economy and security. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation, this initiative has the following goals and objectives:
- Create a cost-effective curriculum based on nonproprietary standards shared among partner and other colleges and universities.
- Establish an on-line collaboration environment to facilitate communication among partners and the community and to disseminate results of the collaboration.
- Host semi-annual conferences for the community to discuss and document curriculum development in EC
- Engage industry technologists in student mentoring and internship programs at partner schools
- Provide partner access to Marist&aposs new enterprise computing data center for faculty to develop courses and laboratory exercises and to expose their students to a large systems environment.
The National Conference is a three day event, comprising two days of plenary with focus on educational, practitioner and research issues, which include paper submissions and presentations, keynote speeches and panel discussions.
